June Projects for Zeus and Zoe....and a couple of my favorite things

Hello there! Just sharing with you today a couple of projects I made using Donna Salazar's GCD Studios  Mixed Media Stax 2. I love this product so much I made 2 projects also following Denise and Norma's theme for this month's Favorite Things Challenge.

First I made this journal. I was going to keep this one but my daughter, Alyssa had asked me if she can have it so she can draw her favorite things...I was going to keep it for myself but she said she wants to keep practicing her art so she can be just like mama. Now, how can I say no to that...I told her I have to remove the embellishments, little girls can't have the "blings" yet. So she agreed that I can take the metal charms off and replace it with kid-friendly embellishments after the photos are taken.
Other than Donna's Mixed Media papers, everything else were from Zeus and Zoe Kit.

I took photos from my phone as I go to the progress of making the album pages. The rest is just embellishments.

After I am done, I covered the pages with lace and just went to town with the embellishments.
The flowers I also made using the smooth mixed media paper that is part of the stax.

The flowers are tedious to make, but it worth it. I hand-cut the shapes, painted with Luminarte Paint on both sides.
When it was dry I applied Faber Castell Glaze twice and glued to make this flower.

For my second project I made this canvas art using the printed paper, smooth paper, and the textured paper from the same Donna Salazar Mixed Media Paper Stack line.

I liked the antique color of the flowers...

These are all my favorite things...art, flowers, lace, mixed media, and pretty little things that make up a big beautiful things.

Thank you to Donna Salazar and to Couture Creations for sponsoring us this month.

My little house in the middle of glitter and singing birds

Hi..what are you all up to?

Last month, I joined 13 Arts Challenge and I had been so honored to win that monthly challenge.
You see, I rarely join challenges and if I do, I normally don't win. But I like Aida's challenge and I don't mind joining it whenever I possibly can.

Aida sent me this pretty paper pack and she invited me to GD for her using the theme for this month's challenge..

Rules of challenge #8:
1. Please create a project that contains the theme of a house.
2. Your work must contain also at least one recycled element, two types of media and a stamp or a transfer.
3. Publish your project at your blog and add link directly to the post using Inlinkz tool at the end of this post.

4. Please add link and info about our challenge, where your work is published.

5. You can enter with your project to maximum 2 other challenges and your work must be new, not published before our challenge has started.

6. The challenge ends 23.06.2013 at 23:59. Winners will be announced on the 27.06.2013.

When the challenge ends, our Design Team pick one best work from Poland and one best foreign work. Both will be awarded with sets of 13 arts papers and media from our shop. The winners will be invited to join us in one of our challenges as Guest Designers. Additionally we will feature few works with biggest number of points.

Here is what I made using 13Arts products

It all started as a plain paper mache house.

I tore the paper in little pieces with the help of my daughter. I decoupaged each paper using mode podge. I then thinned Golden White Gesso with water and white washed the whole house once it was done drying. I wanted to have the old marble effect.

I added embellishments using Zeus and Zoe kits items

I used a brick stencil and Golden Crackle paste for the paved way. Once dry I dabbed with chalk ink.

For the base of the house. I glued another 13Arts paper to a cardboard, adhered a very old doily. Sprayed with Pearl Sky Blue 13Arts Mist. White washed with diluted Golden gesso.
From there, I just gathered my trinkets to decorate the front of the house. I added glitter all over the place to finish the project.

Thank you Aida for the opportunity!!

May Winner...Kids and Stuffies

Hi Ladies...

Sorry I haven't been around. And I am sorry for the delay in posting this. I am actually taking the month of June off. But I didn't forget the winner. I will add a new giveaway next week on the 15th, so please stay tuned.

Just want to share with you a couple of things I made the past few days. The kids are done with school and I'm glad to be able to spend some time with them. We watch a lot of movies, eat popcorn, swim in the afternoon and just hangin' out. Time with your children is so priceless. Enjoy your kids..they grow up so fast.

Here they are graduating from pre-school and Kindergarten..
