It's the first day of January, which means that it's also time for a new challenge:
I thought it would be a nice idea to make a New Year's challenge: scrap about your word for 2013. At the beginning of a new year, I always pick a word that I want to live by for that year. For example I have chosen the word 'explore' for 2013, as I want to spend more time exploring the world, exploring chances and exploring myself. My challenge for you is to choose your own word that you want to live by in 2013 and to scrap about this word. This can be in whatever way you want: you can make an art journal, a lay-out, a card, an altered item. Whatever you like to record the word that you want to live by.

This is my example for the challenge. On my lay-out I journaled about my word for 2013, which is 'explore'. I have used several items from my vintage kit from the Zeus & Zoe Etsy store on my lay-out.

In this embellishment cluster I have used a gorgeous Webster's Pages flower and a beautiful vintage button that were part of my Zeus & Zoe kit. Also do you see the beautiful gold lacing below my photo? That was part of my Zeus & Zoe kit too.
You can find more gorgeous embellishments like these in the Zeus & Zoe Etsy store, where you can also put together your own vintage kit.

This month we have an amazing prize to offer, that is sponsored by the Swedish brand Maja Design. The chosen winner and the random winner will both receive a 6 x 6" paper pads from their beautiful 'Walking in the Forest' collection:

Maja Design Corp is situated in Uddevalla, Sweden. We are dedicated to create unique and high quality vintage inspired patterned paper for scrapbooking and crafts. Maja Design was founded in November 2007, and since then been growing over 70 retailers in Sweden and 90 all over the world. Founder Marie Jansson says : "In the fall of 2004, a dear friend asked me to join her to a scrapbooking course. from that moment, i became totally amazed and thrilled by all the beautiful papers and decorations in the art of scrapbooking. After some time as a captivated scrapper, I got curious to create my own patterns. I have always have had a devotion for colour and form, as well as I had great printing facilities close, as I worked at a printers office. Since 2007, I have been blessed to be able to work with my great passion - to design and create coloured coordinated paper".

Hi there!

Welcome to my new blog...I'm so glad that you stopped by.

First of all I will be using this blog and will close down my typepad account. One of my New Year's resolution is to keep my blog updated. I have 2 other business blogs and it is not easy to keep up with it sometimes..So I will do my best.

For the first of the month..I am doing the challenge for Berry71bleu Blog..

Here is the info on that..This post is full information, so please bear with me...

I volunteered to do the challege for this month of January. I want to get back to creating again after being gone for over 6 months. Believe me, it wasn't an easy task for me. While I was gone, I got into mixed media with drawing and painting. I wanted to do something as a stress reliever, it worked for me for a bit until I realized that I didn't really have time to do anything with the other things going on in my life and my family.

Now, it's a New Year and I need to get back in the swing of things..So, the challenge this month is to make something about yourself. We scrap about our family, our pets, friends, random nature pictures, etc., but we never get to talk about us. So this month, we will talk about ourselves and we will celebrate us...What a great way to start the year, right?

This challenge is about your new year's resolution, your dreams, your childhood, your best and worst moments, what makes you laugh, cry, mad...what makes you feel beautiful...your best physical feature, what you wish you can change about yourself...your pet peeves, your frustrations, your favorite food, color...maybe a secret? whatever you want to talk about as long as it's all about you.

Since we are talking about you...(the queen!). Here is our January theme that you need to follow.

I followed our generous Sponsor 13 ARTS Frosted Life Collection...They are sponsoring the winner and our DT this month with this gorgeous paper collection.

Random Winner will receive a Vintage-style Skeleton Key Collection from

Here's what I made using Frosted Life Collection

I stenciled the background using crackle paste. I misted it as well. Used glass beads in some portions. Just a random mix of everything.

One of my Tags..Marie Antoinette is part of the theme..
(Berry71bleu Etsy Shop will re-open this week)

Metal charm from my Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop.

Now for my second project..I just followed the theme using Frosted Life collection by 13Arts and I altered this Cigar Box..

I used items from Zeus and Zoe Custom Kit including the cigar box

Handmade flowers done by Toni of 2DogsToni on Ebay.
